😬 Don’t fix your casting materials yet.

Hi Reader,

I’ve been buried in Casting DNA™ PreChecks — deep-dive reviews where I look at an actor’s headshots, résumé, reels, casting profiles, and what they’re trying to do next, all together.

And something keeps happening.

I send one back, and an actor writes me some version of:

"How did you see that?"

Or:

"This is exactly what I’ve been trying to figure out."

Or, occasionally:

"I need to sit with this for a minute." 😂

Which is pretty much my favorite response.

Because the point of the PreCheck was never for me to tell you whether your headshot is good.

It’s to look at the whole picture — your headshots, résumé, footage, credits, the roles you’ve played, the roles you want to play, what you think your problem is — and see whether all of those things are telling the same story. And more importantly – the right story.

Very often, they aren’t.

But here’s the thing I’ve been thinking about while doing all of these:

The PreCheck can show you the gap. But it can’t close it.

I can tell you that the funniest, strangest, most dangerous, most authoritative, most vulnerable — whatever it is — part of you isn’t showing up in your materials.

But then what?

That’s the actual work.

You have to figure out what belongs there instead.

What roles make sense for you?

Which ones are you overlooking because nobody has cast you in them yet?

What do you already have that proves the case?

What needs to go?

And if something important is missing, what evidence are you going to create?

That’s why I built Casting DNA™ as a 90-day program instead of a weekend workshop.

We’re not going to sit around talking about your “type.”

We’re going to investigate you.

We’ll look at the patterns already hiding in your career and the qualities people consistently read in you. We’ll figure out the roles you’re uniquely built to play — including the ones your résumé hasn’t caught up with yet.

Then we’re going to look at what the industry sees when it finds you.

And then we’re going to do something about what’s missing.

You’ll choose two scenes strategically — not just two scenes you like — to reveal abilities your current materials don’t show.

And then I’m going to help you act the hell out of them.

We’ll work on script analysis, relationships, objectives, beats, eyelines, framing, specificity, rehearsal, adjustments — all the things that turn “here’s a scene I shot for my reel” into:

Oh. I didn’t know they could do THAT.

By the end, you’ll have a clear understanding of where you fit, an optimized casting profile, and two polished, shoot-ready scenes designed to expand the story your materials are telling about you.

That is the part the PreCheck can’t do.

Casting DNA™ can.

The program begins September 28, and I’ll be coaching you live throughout the 90 days.

Enrollment is $997, or three payments of $397.

But through September 8, you can join for $797.

If Thursday’s email made you recognize an “also” you’ve been hiding…

This is where we do something about it.

Cheering you on,

P.S. Completely different thing, but I don’t want anyone to miss it: the B.A.S.H. Video Vault is coming down in a couple of days. If you’ve been meaning to grab access, now’s the time. After that, it’s gone.
