Hi Reader, Quick context if you're new here or you've been skimming: I run a 90-day program for actors called Casting DNA™. Ninety days spent uncovering who you already are in story — not the label, the evidence — and then we source and polish two scenes that prove it. Enrollment closes Monday. 🧬 I get two questions about the course, and it's always the same two. What does it cost, and do I have the time. The money part is short: $997, or four payments of $298. That's the whole answer. But this class costs you a lot more than money, and the rest of the bill is time. So here's what the ninety days actually asks of you. I'd rather you know now. First two weeks: the list. ✍🏼 You come up with actor prototypes — at least ten, twenty is better. Brainstorm them yourself. Ask your friends, your family, your reps, your coworkers, the person next to you at the bar. (There's also a custom GPT inside the program you can think out loud with.) You bring that list to our calls and we work it down together until you've got three to five you absolutely love. If you've been chewing on this question for years, this could take an hour. If you haven't, it could be a few. Both are the right amount. The next four weeks: the dig. ⛏️ This is the hard part and I'm not going to sugarcoat it. Once we've got your three to five actors, you go look at everything those actors have done, their whole body of work. Which of their roles are in your age range? Which films and episodes can you actually get your hands on? Then you watch their work, mining it for a killer scene. You read movie scripts. Scrub through YouTube videos. Then you transcribe the ones that are most promising, bring them to class, and we read them out loud. That's when we'll know which two are the ones. I'm not going to lie. This takes hours. It's deep, deep research work. And it doesn't run on a schedule — you'll find nothing on Tuesday, watch three episodes Thursday, hit something great on Saturday, and realize Sunday that it's too close to the other scene you already picked. So you go back into the lab. 🔁 That's why this phase gets four weeks and not one. It's the least glamorous part of this and it's the part that makes the rest of it work, because everything you build later comes out of what you find here. 📚 The back half is an acting class. 🎭 You've got your two scenes. Now you work them. We run the scenes, I give you notes on the craft, you run them again, and you bring them back. Both scenes in tandem or one at a time, your call. We break a scene into the elements and make sure they're all firing and alive. The last call: Shoot Day Ready. 👗 You come with your clothing choices — maybe bring three options per scene. And your minimal props, if any. We strategize the space you have to shoot in, lighting, sound. Who's reading opposite you off camera. The unglamorous logistics that decide whether the scene looks like a self-tape audition or a fully produced, professional piece of demo reel material. And the last call isn't the last day. There's a stretch built in after it on purpose — to finish, to catch up if life ran you over in November, to line up a scene partner or a location or a DP and actually go shoot the thing. 🎬 Ninety days is the honest amount of time this takes, with a call every couple of weeks to keep you moving and get you unstuck in the middle of it. 🗓️ The calls exist for work in progress, not for presenting something finished. If life was lifing and you didn't get to rehearse, then rehearsing is what we'll do on the call. And if you book something in October — good, that's the whole point of all of this. 🎉 Every session is recorded and the recordings are yours to download and keep. If you can't make one live, send your work or your questions in ahead and I'll go through it on the call anyway. You will not lose half of what you paid for because you got cast in something. A program for working actors that fell apart the first time you got work would be a badly designed program. So, both costs, plainly: Time. Real hours, most of them in that four-week dig, spread across three months so they fit in a life. Money. $997, or four payments of $298. 💳 The money is the smaller one. That's not a sales line, it's just true — you can find $997. The hours are harder, bc an actor's week never clears space for them on its own. Auditions come first, the job that pays comes first, and looking hard at your own career waits for a deadline that never arrives. That's what a start date is for. 🗓️ You are not inventing yourself. You are uncovering yourself. 🧬 Still deciding? Take fifteen minutes with me. No pitch. You tell me where you actually are, I'll tell you straight whether this is the right thing for you right now — and sometimes the answer is no. ☎️ Enrollment is open through Monday, September 21 at 11:59 PM PT. The whole 90-Day Program is described here →
Questions? Hit reply — I'll write right back. 💌 P.S. — Program runs September 22 through December 20, with time off at Thanksgiving. Six live calls, most of them every other Tuesday, 10 AM–12 PM PT — one shifts to a Wednesday so it isn't sitting in the middle of Thanksgiving week. 🍗 P.P.S. Did a friend send this your way?
